Zemi's Run: Miles for Melodies

Join Music Avenue on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 for our fundraiser "Miles for Melodies" at Sheehan Park in Sun Prairie. This free event will include: live music, goodie bags, prizes, and more!

Schedule:
9–10am: Registration, Activities
10–11am: 1 Mile Run/Walk (Stroller friendly!)
11am: Snacks, Prize drawings, Wrap up

In honor of baby Zemi, who left us too soon, all money raised will go towards funding Music Avenue's programming to make music education accessible to all families.

Story

Zemi’s Run: Miles for Melodies is the inaugural family run/walk fundraiser. It’s named so in remembrance of the founders’ late infant daughter, Zemirah Sung, whose name means “joyous melody.”

In keeping with the “no barriers” policy of Music Avenue, the event will be free to all. Individuals and teams are encouraged to fundraise, however. The event will occur at Sheehan Park in Sun Prairie, on a stroller-friendly one-mile course on park trails. The route will be open for one hour; participants will collectively pool miles walked/run to earn a $1 per mile “Miles Match” from generous sponsors including Fleet Feet.

Various child-friendly free activities and goodies will be available, including face painting, live music, books generously donated by The Book Deal, free ice cream tokens from Culver's, etc. While this is the inaugural event, the response thus far has been overwhelmingly positive, and we hope to make it a yearly event!
